Sarah Cardenas

Sarah Denise Cardenas, 27, was born and raised in Ruidoso, New Mexico. Sarah was born on March 24, 1994 to Anselmo Cardenas Jr., and Rosa Ivonne Medrano Cardenas. Sarah, a beloved mother, daughter, and sister; Survived by her parents; siblings Aldo Fabian and Irasema (Chema) Cardenas, Alexis Baldonado, and Priscilla Cadenas; daughter Miah Denise Medina; grandparents Manuel and Maria Medrano; Grandmother Julia Cardenas; aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Sarah Denise was born the eldest of her siblings. Sarah enjoyed playing soccer and softball in her early years. An intelligent and driven young woman, she excelled in her education; Graduating from Ruidoso High School with honors and later a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Eastern New Mexico University, Sarah went on to dedicate her life as a pre-kindergarten teacher to the elephant class at Sierra Vista Primary. Alongside being a mother to Miah, teaching was one of the greatest joys in Sarah's life. She loved and cared for all of her students deeply. Outside of her work, Sarah enjoyed dancing, singing, and spending quality time with friends, family, and Miah. Wherever Sarah went, she brought laughter and joy. With her infectious, unforgettable, one of a kind laugh and her loving embraces, Sarah made an enormous impact in her community. Her loss deeply felt by all those who will forever remember and honor her memory. Sarah Denise Cardenas was called to her eternal resting place on September 12, 2021.

In Loving Memory of Sarah Denise Cardenas. Under the direction of LaGrone Funeral Chapel in Ruidoso, New Mexico, visitation will be held at Burkhams Barn on Sunday, September 19, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A rosary will be recited at Saint Eleanor's Catholic Church in Ruidoso, New Mexico on Monday, September 20, 2021 at 10:00 am followed by mass at 10:30 am prior to cremation. Services will be officiated by Father Martin.

Reception to follow at Burkhams Barn at 1:00 pm.
