Kevin Sheehan

Kevin Patrick Sheehan, 47, passed away March 27, 2021 in Carrizozo, NM.  Kevin was born at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas on August 15, 1973.

Everyone who knew Kevin knew of his love for football, horseraces and his devotion to being a teacher and football coach at Picacho Middle School in Las Cruces, Fort Wingate High School and Carrizozo High School.  He also taught at Mescalero High School and remained connected to his Apache and Navajo families.  He was a very proud Carrizozo Grizzly and an avid Washington Redskin and Notre Dame fan.

He is preceded in death by his dad, William “Frank” Sheehan, Grandparents: Refugio Sr.and Oralia Najar and Thomas Sheehan and Catherine Sheehan; his uncles:  Albert Najar, Colman, Walter, and Patrick and James Sheehan;  Aunts:  Kathleen Stack, Rose Vozzola, Maddie Considine, Georgina Regan. Cousin:  Raymond Najar.  His fiancé, Joanie Bingerman.

He is survived by his mother, Beatrice Sheehan;  his sister, Kelly Zamora (husband, Duane Zamora);  brother Billy Sheehan (wife, Denise Sheehan);  Nieces, Sydney Zamora and Mirieli Montes.  Nephews:  Chaz and Scott Zamora and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers include:  Nikko Chavez, Chris Barela, Leeroy Najar Jr., Buddy Hill Jr., Jim Rapp, Raul Sandoval, Jake Narvaez, Mike Gaines, Michael Rominger, Cody Furness, Robert Lueras, Miguel Najar, and Jose Saenz.

Honorary Pallbearers:  Refugio Najar Jr., Leeroy Najar Sr., Dillon and Shane Najar, Joshua Young, Todd Wilcox, and John Salopek.

Services will be on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 10:00 at Santa Rita Catholic Church in Carrizozo, NM with burial to follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery.  Masks will be required.
