Jessica Brown

September 4, 1984 — December 25, 2021

Capitan, NM

Jessica Lynn Brown, 37, of Capitan NM passed away Christmas Day December 25, 2021.  She was born on September 4, 1984 in Albuquerque NM to Scott and Suzanne Thomas.  She graduated from Independence High School in Albuquerque NM.  Jessica and J. D. Brown were married before friends and family in Albuquerque NM on December 2, 2006 .  They were blessed with three amazing children all born in Ruidoso NM.  On October 12, 2007 they welcomed their first son, Scott David, December 22, 2008, their second son, Luke Patrick, was born, and on December 21, 2013, their darling daughter, Katielynn Faye, completed their little family.  They made their home in Capitan in 2010 and have loved being a part of the community ever since.

Jessica leaves behind her husband, J. D Brown, 3 beautiful children, Scott, Luke, and Katielynn Brown of the home in Capitan.  Also surviving her are her parents Suzanne Thompson (Tom), Micki Hennessey, and Scott Thomas; grandmothers  Elizabeth Ewins and Goldie Faye “Granny Faye” Thomas; siblings Jeremy Thomas (Jennifer), Shawn Thompson (Elizabeth Kivins), Zachary Thomas, Christi Moraga (Clay), and Kyle McRee; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law David and Ruth Ann Brown of Dexter, sister-in-law Cody Brown (LeRoy Grube) and many, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was incredibly close to her Aunt Amye Courtney.

We would also like to acknowledge her closest and most cherished friend, Sunshyne Hansell.  Sunshyne’s incredible kindness and generosity is so appreciated.  Any time of the day or night, no matter what was needed, Sunshyne was always there.

The family has absolutely been overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of so many of their friends and members of the community. The kind offers of help have been such a comfort to the family.

It is so difficult to lose someone so young.  Jessica was a devoted wife and mother and fierce friend.  She was at every Capitan school and sporting event.  She was feisty, funny, beautiful, and much loved by so many.  And she will be terribly missed.  Her family will need your kind words and support during this devastating time.  We hope you will share your memories of Jess with J.D. and her kids.

Memorial service will be held at a later date.
