Freddie Eldon Kaydahzinne
November 8, 1949 – December 2, 2020
Freddie Eldon Kaydahzinne, 71, was born to William and Pauline Kaydahzinne on November 8, 1949, and was called home on December 2, 2020. He was a Traditional Man and currently worked as Curator at the Mescalero Apache Culture Center. He was well known for numerous accomplishments consisting of music, art, his traditional teachings as well as the love he had for the Mescalero Apache people. He was a dedicated Mescalero Lady Chiefs fan for many years. Freddie was an eminent businessman and spokesperson for his people who was devoted to helping his people and was a voice that could be heard and who encouraged his people. He had worked 31 years for the Mescalero Apache Tribe as a Housing Director, which consisted of developing homes and building structures throughout the Reservation. He later became the Tribal Administrator and worked alongside numerous great leaders. As he currently worked as Curator for the Mescalero Culture Center, he had the privilege to meet many people throughout the world.
Freddie was born in Mescalero and resided there all his life. He is the Great-Great Grandson of the famous leader Cochise and was a descendent of the Great Warrior Kay-dah-zinne and Des-den-zhoos, as well as the Great Warrior Chatto and his wife Helen Chatto, whom he lived and learned with while growing up.
Freddie is survived by his wife Edith Kaydahzinne; children, Bo Kaydahzinne, Kristen Kaydahzinne, Richele Kaydahzinne-Bradburn and Leisha Yuzos. His sisters, Andrea Summa, Lenore Vasile, Birdena Kaydahzinne and Velda Kaydahzinne. His beautiful grandchildren, Tisha and Sloane Kaydahzinne, John Kaydahzinne, Kiara and Kyle Bradburn, Twyla Chino-Belin, Samantha and Leinneah Chino along with 11 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Pauline Kaydahzinne, his son Guyman Kyle Kaydahzinne, whom was a champion fancy dancer. His two sisters, Bernadette and Teresa Kaydahzinne and three brothers, Vincent, Merwin and Leland Kaydahzinne.
A Wake Service will be held Monday, December 7, from evening to sunrise at 932 Mescalero Blvd., Mescalero, NM, following with graveside services on December 8, 2020 at 10 a.m. at the upper Mescalero Cemetery where he will be laid to rest.
