Calvin Thrasher

Calvin Russell Thrasher passed away September 30, 2021 in Capitan, N.M.  He was born in 1925 in Jones Prairie, TX to Bert and Nettie Thrasher.   He was a lifelong U.S. Patriot and served in WWII in the 3rd Army Infantry under General George Patton. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1949 with a Bachelor of Science degree & worked in the wildlife management fields.

He and his wife of 50 years lived for 40 years in El Paso, Texas.  His wife Patsy preceded him in death in 1997.  He sold his property in El Paso and move to the Ruidoso-Capitan area of NM, where he enjoyed woodworking, fishing and watching football.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Susan McNutt in NM and Sally McKay in Colorado. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren ; Stefani McNutt, Lauren Benschoter and Ryan McKay, additionally he has 2 grandchildren Stella and Ruby Alley in Austin TX.  He is also survived by a sister, Shirley Burton in California and a brother, Kenneth Thrasher in Texas.

He lived his life with vim & vigor. He was very active up until his 96th year. He will be missed! Valabuena!
