Buddie Vuicich

d. December 19, 2022

Buddie Collin Vuicich, a wonderful, loving and gracious man, passed away on December 19, 2022 in Fredericksburg, Texas.   Originally from West Texas, Buddie was born in Seagraves, Texas and raised in Denver City, Texas.  Buddie attended San Angelo State University.  Buddie formerly owned and operated several retail businesses with his family in Lincoln County beginning in the 1980s.   The majority of his professional career was spent at Sierra Blanca Motors, where he was the General Manager.  In 1990, Buddie met the love of his life-Likis.  They were married in 1993, and have one daughter, Taylor Ashley Vuicich.  Buddie and Likis made their home in Alto, New Mexico.

Buddie “Bud” was known for his great sense of humor and adventurous spirit.  Bud enjoyed snow skiing, cycling, dirt-bike racing, sprint car racing, and he was a Multi Engine Private Pilot and Aircraft Owner.  Bud enjoyed playing the harmonica and drums and he often played music with his friends.  Bud loved life and he cherished any activities, which he could do with his family.  He was very involved in every aspect of his daughter’s education from preschool through college.  He taught Taylor how to ski and snowboard, he taught her about flying a plane, he loved working with her on numerous science projects, and they enjoyed music and dancing.  Bud also enjoyed serving his beloved community.  He was the Chairman of the Alto Architecture Control and Commission Board, and served on the Alto Executive Board of Directors.  He was a member of the Alto Men’s Golf Association.   He served as a board member for several local organizations, including Ruidoso Home Health and Hospice and First Christian Church.  Bud volunteered and served as the Committee Chairman and member of the Ruidoso Schools Parent Advisory Board.  During his work with Ruidoso Schools, he spearheaded programs; including the Uniform Initiative, Kids Night Out, Meals for Kids, and assured that each campus had American flags displayed. He gladly supported the Lincoln County Humane Society and the Alto Furr Ball.  He also proudly served and has been a member of the Civil Air Patrol and Holloman Aero Club.   Bud was highly respected by his community and work colleagues.

Bud was preceded in death by his father Buddie Vuicich Sr., his mother Evelyn Vuicich, his Father and mother in-law Rafael and Cloie Castanon.  Bud is survived by his wife Likis Vuicich, daughter Taylor Ashley Vuicich and her fiancé Mitchell Taylor, sister Cheryl Stokes and her husband Len Stokes, sister Melody Kump and her husband Mike Kump.  Bud had several nieces, nephews, cousins, and brother and sister in laws from his wife’s family.   Bud loved his family, friends and he loved his relationships and friendships at Sierra Blanca Motors.  He will be greatly missed.
