Wilson Burgess

Wilson Burgess, a man known for his kindness and unwavering generosity, passed away on April 6, 2026. Born on November 12, 1975, Wilson's life was marked by an extraordinary spirit of compassion; he never turned anyone away, embodying the very essence of goodwill.

Throughout his years, Wilson nurtured a remarkable talent as an artist. His creative spirit and dedication to his craft brought beauty and inspiration to those around him. Beyond his artistic achievements, Wilson took immense pride in his role as a grandfather, finding joy and love in his grandchildren, which stood as some of his proudest accomplishments.

Wilson is survived by his daughters, Danielle Burgess, and Sharena Burgess; grandchildren, Alina Luevano, Nathaniel Orosco, and Isaiah Saenz; brother, Joseph Caje; sisters, Davina Caje, Angelica Caje, and Amanda Caje; other family, Jeri Caje, Niles Caje, Windy Caje, Donna Kanseah, Crystal Kanseah, Moris Kanseah, Marlin Kanseah, Cynthia Enjady, Heather Enjady, Nelia Enjady, Elijah Enjady, Ivonna Burgess, and many others. He is preceded in death by his father, Fritz Burgess; mother, Francine Kanseah; and his brothers, Richard Burgess, Ivan Burgess, Thomas Burgess, Fritz Burgess, and James Caje.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026 at the Mescalero Community Center Gymnasium at 9:30 AM. The procession will leave LaGrone Funeral Chapel that morning at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow the funeral at Mescalero Cemetery. 

Pallbearers are Garrett Apachito, Chance Balatche, Joseph Caje, Niles Caje, Thomas Burgess, Nate Burgess, Jalen Burgess, and Leslie Escalanti. 

Wilson Burgess leaves behind a legacy of warmth, creativity, and selflessness, qualities that endeared him to many. He will be remembered with deep respect and affection by all who had the privilege to know him.
