William Sheehan

William F. Sheehan (Frank), 77 years old, passed away Tuesday, February 7,2017 in Carrizozo. Frank was born in Midleton, County Cork, Ireland on January 22,1940. Frank immigrated from Ireland in 1957 to Connecticut where he lived for 10 years before joining the United States Air Force in 1967. During his military service he served in Vietnam as well as doing several tours overseas. He married Beatrice Najar in 1967 and they traveled the United States together. Frank retired from the Air Force in in 1983 and moved to Carrizozo. He then worked for the United States Postal Service and retired in 2003.
Frank was known for his Irish wit and honesty. He was the proudest of his three children and grand-daughter and shared this often with whomever would listen. He was also extremely proud of becoming a citizen of the United States.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Catherine Sheehan; brothers, James, Walter, Patrick and Colman Sheehan; sisters, Kathleen Culver, Rose Vozzola, Philomena Sheehan and Georgina Regan.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Beatrice Sheehan; three children, Kelly Zamora and her husband Duane Zamora, two sons, Kevin and William (Billy) Sheehan and one granddaughter, Sydney Zamora; sisters, Antoine Sheehan of Midleton, County Cork, Ireland and Marie Considine of West Hartford, Connecticut.
Rosary service will be Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Santa Rita Catholic Church in Carrizozo, New Mexico with the funeral mass to follow at 10:30 A.M. Military graveside will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery in Carrizozo.
