William Ferguson

William H. "Billy" Ferguson, 82, of Lincoln County passed away Friday, October 23, 2015 in Alamogordo. He was born October 6, 1933 in Carrizozo to Louise and Wallace Ferguson. He is a descendant of Pioneers to Lincoln County, his paternal grandparents, Will and May Ferguson and maternal grandparents, Maude Bailey and Henry Fritz. He graduated from Capitan High School in 1951 and New Mexico A&M in 1956. He served in the Navy and was Commander of his class and became a jet fighter pilot. He was an air traffic controller in El Paso and Albuquerque.

He is survived by his wife, Frances; children, Franklin McLelland and his wife Jenni, Scot McLelland and his wife Betsy, Lauranne Weber and her husband Bill, Jane Garrand and her husband Roy and Suzan Stambaugh and her husband Mark; brother, Wally Ferguson and his wife, Anne; nephew, Matt Ferguson and his wife, Becca; nieces, Lisa Shivers and her husband Mike and Mary Jane Cooper and her husband Jim; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Monday, October 26, at 2:00 P.M. at the Angus Cemetery.
