William Caster Sr.

William Ira Caster, 93, of Ruidoso passed away Friday, April 25, 2014 in Mescalero. He was born August 17, 1920 at Estancia, NM. He had served as Superintendent of Schools for Mountainair, Capitan and Tularosa. He retired and worked for the Forest Service. He moved to Capitan in 1970 from Albuquerque and then moved to Ruidoso in 1978. He attended the Methodist Church. He served in the Air Force during World War and was a P.O.W. and earned a Purple Heart.

He married Mary Lou Kubena on April 1, 1946 at Mountainair and she preceded him in death on November 17, 2006. He is survived by a son, Bill Caster of Ruidoso two grandchildren, Brian Caster of Mountainair and Carla Nye of Gallup 3 great grandchildren, Jarol, Lindsey and Analiss Nye of Gallup.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Mountainair.
