Warren Bernard Mendez, a beloved member of the Mescalero community, passed away on August 31, 2025, at the age of 55. Born on October 24, 1969, in Mescalero, New Mexico, Warren, also known as Beaver, was known for his fun-loving personality, infectious smile, and his unwavering commitment to helping others, whether spiritually, physically, or financially.

Warren was pursuing higher education by taking college classes and had aspirations of starting a real estate business. He was proud of his accomplishments, having purchased his own home and paid off his vehicle, milestones that reflected his hard work and determination.

An avid music lover, Beaver was the founder and lead member of a band called the 3 B's. He was known for his singing and playing a mean guitar and drums. His interests spanned a variety of hobbies including computers, working in the forest, and traveling both domestically and internationally, with a special fondness for London. He was a dedicated pet owner, finding joy in the company of his dogs, Kiser and Yeager.

He is survived by his father, Charlie Mendez; his brothers, Jose Mendez and Ernesto Mendez; his sisters, Sonya Morin and her husband Ron, Anjelica Mendez, Rebecca Mendez, and April Mendez; as well as Courtney Morin, Jesse Morin, Brian Mendez, Kylie Mendez, and numerous other family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

Warren is preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Mendez, and his brother, Dominic Mendez.

The funeral procession will leave LaGrone Funeral Chapel at 8:00 AM Thursday, September 11, 2025, and will travel to St. Joseph Apache Mission Church in Mescalero where the Rosary will be begin at 9:00 AM. The Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 AM and conclude with burial at the LaPaz Family Cemetery.

Even with his busy schedule, he still had time for family and others. Warren will be remembered for the joy he brought to those around him, and his legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to inspire all who knew him.
