Sharlene Glossop, a beloved soul, was born on September 11, 1962, and departed this world on December 21, 2025. For 22 remarkable years, Sharlene dedicated her life to serving as a slot attendant supervisor at the Inn of the Mountain Gods, where her work ethic shone brightly and earned her the utmost respect from her colleagues and guests alike.
As a kind-hearted, loving, and compassionate individual, Sharlene’s warmth touched the lives of everyone around her. She had an innate ability to connect with people, showcasing her caring nature not only through her work but also in the way she embraced her role as a mother. Her children were her pride and joy, and her love extended far beyond the bounds of her immediate family, reaching out to all children—each one felt the gentle embrace of her affection.
Sharlene's unwavering faith was reflected in her regular attendance at family worship services at the Mescalero Assembly of God, where she drew strength and solace in the company of her community. Her spiritual devotion was an integral part of her identity, shaping her values and fueling her passion for fostering many children throughout her life. This commitment to nurturing not only highlighted her compassionate spirit, but also her proudest accomplishments, particularly her deep-rooted connection to her Mescalero Apache culture and her fluency in the Apache language.

She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, as they cherish the countless memories of a woman who embodied the essence of compassion and hard work. A prayer service will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Mescalero Assembly of God. The procession will leave LaGrone Funeral Chapel of Ruidoso at 4:00 PM. The funeral service will be Monday, December 29, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Mescalero Community Center with interment to follow at Mescalero Cemetery.
