In Loving Memory Of Savannah Lanae Hanks

On a beautiful Sunday afternoon of October 29,2017, our loving, precious sixteen year old Savannah, a loving Daughter, Sister, Niece, Granddaughter, and friend was called home to our Father God Almighty, and our Lord Savior, Jesus Christ. Savannah was bom on March 15, 2001 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Savannah is survived by Her Mother, Carole S. Hanks, Sisters M'Linn J.K. Hanks, Devin R. Hanks Merrifield, Aunts Myrna and Joan Hanks, Jonelle, Belva, Neida, and Jolene Geronimo, Annisa Kanseah, Freda R. Moreno, Sarah Kazhe-Kirgan, Joella Herrera, Henrietta Desidero, Uncles, Lynn Hanks, Robert L. Geronimo, James Kunestsis, Wadell Kanseah, Jose Moreno, living Grandparents Iris Geronimo, Karen Moreno, Jose Valencia, Peter D. and Jo Kazhe of Mescalero, New Mexico, Rod, and Joyce Highelk, and Peter Hanks of White Earth, Minnesota. Savannah is also survived by numerous relatives from the Mescalero Apache Indian Reservation of Mescalero, New Mexico and the Mississippi River Band of the Ojibwe Indian Tribe of White Earth, Minnesota, and many aunts, uncles and especially her cousins that she considered to be her brothers and sisters. Savannah is preceded in death by Grandparents Adrianne M. Hanks and Sherald G. Hanks, and a Brother, Matthew Noah Hanks.

Savannah was proud to be a ninth (9th) grade Student at Mescalero Apache Schools and recently a very proud summer seasonal team Member at the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort and Casino's Recreation Department. Savannah's Traditional living as a Mescalero Apache was generously nurtured and perpetuated by Her Mescalero Apache Traditional Care Taker's Joey Padilla, an Uncle, Aunts Virginia Ortega, and Mary Blaylock, Fernando "Nando Ray" Rocha Jr., Anthony "Jopa" Rocha, the James Kunestsis Chiricahua Apache Crown Dance Group, the Wallace "Eldon" Enjady Jr. Mescalero Apache Crown Dance Group, and the Eugene Botella Mescalero Apache Dance Group.

Lastly, her very beautiful of life of sixteen years was supported by Medical Teams from UNM Children's Hospital, University of California San Francisco Hospital and St. Louis Children's Hospital.

Her prayer service will be Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 6:00 P.M. at the Mescalero Reformed Church where the funeral will be on Friday, November 3, at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at White Tail Cemetery.
