Rolland Smith

Rolland Dean Smith, 54, of Mescalero passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 in Albuquerque. He was born December 10, 1962 in Ruidoso and had lived most of his life at Mescalero. He attended the Riverside Indian School in Anadarko, Oklahoma. He was a firefighter for Forestry.

He is survived by a son, Nathan Hosetosavit; two daughters, Renee Smith and Candace Smith; his mother, Cornelia Gaines; two brothers, Herchel Smith and Everett Smith; two sisters, Caroline Valdez and Nina Kaydahzinne; his granddaughter, Sierra Ahidley.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 11, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel in Ruidoso from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. The prayer service will be Thursday, May 11, at Mescalero Assembly of God Church at 6:00 P.M. with the funeral service at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, May 12, also at the Mescalero Assembly of God Church. Burial will follow at the Mescalero Cemetery.
