Robert Gonzales, 91, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025, in Ruidoso, New Mexico. Born on September 6, 1934, in Houston, Texas, Robert lived a long and meaningful life rooted in faith and family and was married to Gloria Doria Gonzales since December 16, 1966. He was born to Teofilo and Amelia Espinosa Gonzales.
Robert dedicated much of his professional life to HISD and the City of Houston, where he worked as an AC Engineer for the Houston Police Department. His work supported those who served the community. His skills extended far beyond his career-he was always ready to lend a hand when someone needed help with car or appliance repairs. Whether it was a neighbor or a friend in need, Robert's generosity and mechanical know-how were constants throughout his life.
A man of deep Christian faith, Robert found joy and purpose in helping others. He loved God and his church wholeheartedly and lived out his beliefs through acts of kindness and service. His devotion to his family was unwavering and to attending Lakewood church weekly. He believed there was no greater name than the name of Jesus and in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Robert had a special love for the outdoors. Fishing was one of his greatest pleasures-a pastime that brought him peace and connection with nature. While casting a line with those he loved, these moments reflected his appreciation for life's simple joys and others.
He had 5 children, Irene Gonzales; Sophie Blackmon; Robert Eli Gonzales; Nancy Albright; Stephanie Wimukthi. Grandchildren Gavin Lee Albright and Luke Gonzales. He is proceeded in death by his father and mother and siblings, Augustine, Joe, Leo, Angelina, Mary, Rosie, Vickie and Josephine.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire acts of kindness through the love of Jesus.
