Robert Shirley

Robert, "Bob" Shirley passed from this life on February 12, 2016.

Bob was born on April 9, 1942 in Pampa, Texas to Harold and Carmon Shirley. He attended schools in Denver City, Texas and joined the US Navy at 17 years of age serving on the USS Midway aircraft carrier. He married Linda Cryer on December 26, 1959. Bob graduated Texas Tech University in 1971 and remained a Red Raider fan for the rest of his life. After graduation he worked for Amoco for nine years and for Anadarko Petroleum Corporation in Midland, Texas until his retirement in 2002. He was a current board member and past President of Black Forest Property Owners Association in Ruidoso.

He is survived by his wife Linda, son Robert Martin Shirley of Hobbs, NM, daughter Christy Lynn Martinez and her husband Rudy of Midland, Texas, son Lance Alan Shirley of Wylie, Texas, one granddaughter and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, February 19, at LaGrone Funeral Home chapel in Ruidoso, N.M. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the charity of your choice.
