Robert Orr

Robert Mitchell Orr, Sr., died at his home on November 28, 2018, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 92 years old.

Orr was born in Los Fresnos, Texas, October 4, 1926. He graduated high school in Dallas, became a lieutenant in the U.S. Army, served in Panama, then graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. Most of his professional career was spent in Monahans, Texas.

He moved to Ruidoso full-time in 1996.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Barbara Ann (née Chambers), his sister, Elizabeth; his sister, Carolyn; his four children, Robert, Patricia, William and Marilyn; their spouses, Marilyn McSween Orr, Randolph Hochstetter, Isabel Saiz, and John Rutherford; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church on Tuesday, December 4, at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christian Services, Ward County Library, or your preferred mission.
