Riley Smith

Riley Smith, 81, of Capitan passed away Friday, January 20, 2017 in Ruidoso. He was born July 6, 1935 at LaLuz, NM to Amanda and Roy Smith, he was raised in Weed, NM.

He is Past President of the Eddy County Fair Board and was a strong supporter of Eddy County FFA and 4-H. He moved to Lincoln County in 1997 from Artesia, NM. He married Alma McCabe on May 21, 1956 at Lovington, NM. He attended Christ Community Fellowship Church in Capitan

He is survived by his wife, Alma; his children, Bobby Smith of Capitan, Juhree Cope of Carlsbad and Gene Smith of Artesia; 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

His funeral service will be Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 1:30 PM at Christ Community Fellowship Church in Capitan with burial to follow at the Capitan Cemetery.

The family has requested memorials to your local fair board.
