Renee Archuleta 54, our beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend was called to her eternal resting place on March 23, 2026. She was born on November 21, 1971, in Carrizozo, New Mexico and was the cherished daughter of Ernest and Linda Archuleta.
Renee grew up in a close-knit family as the second of five children. From an early age, she was known for both her physical and mental strength and for a quick wit that made her presence unforgettable. She had a big heart that was open to everyone. She loved people and they loved her in return just as much if not more.
Renee was incredibly creative, with a passion for painting that allowed her to express herself in ways words never could. She loved to paint. She also had a gift for making people laugh, and she had the biggest, most boisterous laugh that could fill a stadium. It was loud, joyful and impossible to ignore. It was the kind of laugh that made everyone around her laugh just by hearing it.
She was generous to her core. Even when she had very little, she always found a way to give to others. If you ever needed a meal or a place to stay, she offered it. That kindness was simply who she was. She had a light that shined so brightly.
Throughout her life, Renee wore many hats. After attending beauty school in Alamogordo, she spent years as a creative hairstylist. Over time, she was known as a true jack of all trades, working in construction, assisting horse trainers as a groomer at racetracks across New Mexico and Texas and even serving as a jailer at the Lincoln County Detention Center.
She lived in New Mexico, Texas and Florida, but no matter where life took her, she always found her way home.
Renee was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Archuleta; her grandparents, Florencio and Mary Archuleta and Rae Sedillo Webb.
She is survived by her mother, Linda Archuleta; her son, Johnny Beltran Jr. and his fiancé Antionette Jansen; her grandchildren, Jayden Beltran, Alexus Beltran, Keira Beltran, and Johnny Beltran III; her brothers, Ernest D. Archuleta Jr., and Anthony Archuleta and his wife Krista; her sisters, Lisa Zamora, Valerie Godby and her husband Josh, and Rachel Archuleta; and her nieces and nephews, Taylor and Tissaia Archuleta, Kenisha Zamora, Anthony Romero and Steven Zamora.
Family and friends are invited to Santa Rita Catholic Church in Carrizozo, NM for a rosary service at 10:30 am and a funeral service at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 30, 2026. A burial service will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will include Johnny Beltran Jr., Ernest D. Archuleta Jr., Anthony Archuleta, Anthony Romero and Joshua Godby.
