Ralph Edward Womack (Eddy), a devoted family man, lifelong rancher, and passionate outdoorsman, passed away on April 27, 2026. Born on May 16, 1937.
Eddy was born in Fort Stanton, NM to Emmett Womack and Lois Goode Womack and lived his young years exploring, hunting, and loving this beautiful area he called home. He and his brothers have hunted and explored almost every inch of the county. Eddy enjoyed reliving and telling stories about his many adventures with his brothers and friends.
Eddy’s love of horses began at Fort Stanton, and he raised, trained, and rode horses from that time forward. Anything horseback was where he was happy.
Eddy married Ellen Fay Taylor and began his family having three daughters: Ann, Debbie and Teri.
Eddy took a ranch job at the G-F Ranch and later managed the ranch until he retired. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, competitive shooting and team roping, not just as hobbies but as a true passion.
Eddy is survived by his wife Ellen Fay Womack; daughters, Margaret Ann Miles, Debra Rae Cox (Kenneth), Teri Lynne Pickett (Troy), son by heart John G. Taylor (Diane); grandchildren Travis Gray (Heidi), Trevor Gray (Katie), Stefan Wagley (Sadie), Alisha O’Donovan (Donncha), Kelley Wagley, Tel Pickett (Josy), Tee Pickett (Shana) and Kayla Cox; great grandchildren Rowdy Gray, Luke Gray, Cutler Gray, Ellie Gray, Sawyer Wagley, Mason Wagley, Diarmaid O’Donovan, Cainneach O’Donovan, Ivy Pickett, Colbie Pickett, Amelie Wagley, Selah Wagley, Andi Smith, and Calie Smith. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Lois Womack; his siblings, Jessie E. Womack, Leldon Thomas Womack, Joe Don Womack, and Jenell Bills; grandson, Justin Layne Wagley; and son in laws, Ray Miles and Scott Wagley.
Eddy Womack leaves behind a legacy rooted in hard work, family, and a western way of life. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and kind heart.
