Pedro Salas

Pedro M. "Pete" Salas, 88, of the Hondo Valley passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015 in Estancia, NM of natural causes. He was a lifelong resident of the Hondo Valley, born on December 4, 1926.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Elfigo and Maximillana Salas; his wife, Rachel Salas and a son, Gilbert Chavaz. He is survived by his children, Jimmy Montoya, Albert Chavez and his wife Lucy; Nancy Sanchez and her husband Bobby, Sofia Urban and her husband Joe, Rosie Akin and her husband Mike and Pete Salas Jr.; 13 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; 3 brothers, 1 uncle.

Prayer service will be Wednesday, March 4, at 6:30 PM in St. Jude's Catholic Church where the funeral mass will be on Thursday, March 5, at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at the Hondo Cemetery.
