Pauline Kaydahzinne

At sunrise, March 12, Pauline Kaydahzinne went home to our Creator. We were blessed with her presence and heartwarming smile since December 18, 1930. She enriched our lives with her her wisdom, open heart and strength. She taught us how to be fair and how to live a good life. She was first and foremost a strong Christian, rich in her faith and love of God. We were all graced by her prayers. She was also a proud , strong Apache warrior woman, full of tradition and love for her people. She taught us to listen with our hearts, as well as our minds and was always there when we needed her.

Born to Marion Caje and Lepe Neta, and orphaned at an early age, she was raised by Helen Chatto. Helen Chatto passed down her knowledge of basket making, songs and history to Pauline. Pauline used these gifts to enrich the lives of her large family and all the Mescalero commuity. She will be with us forever. We love you, Grandma Pauline.

The prayer service will be Friday, March 14, in St. Josephs Mission at 6:00 PM where the funeral mass will be on Saturday, March 15, at 10:00 AM with burial to follow at the Mescalero Cemetery.

Survivors include her children, Freddie Kaydahzinne, Vincent Kaydahzinne, Andrea Summa, Lenore Vasile, Birdena Kaydahzinne, Merwin Kaydahzinne, Teresa Kaydahzinne, and Velda Kaydahzinne; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
