Born to Dan & Mattie Jones on February 18, 1927 at the Jones' homestead near Angus, New Mexico where Paul A. Jones grew up with his 6 sisters and 3 brothers.
He served 2 years in the US Army (1944-1946) during WWII. He came home and finished High School graduating from Capitan High School in 1947.

He started working for the US Forest Service in 1947 and retired after 35 years. He spent his entire career working in the Smokey Bear District within Lincoln County.
He married the love of his life, Arlene H. (Richardson) Jones on March 10, 1951 in Muleshoe, TX.

Since retiring he spent his remaining years on his portion of the family ranch near Angus with his wife.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years Arlene H. Jones, 3 children, his son Ed Jones & wife Gwen of Capitan, NM, his son Kenneth Jones and wife Deborah of Artesia, NM and his daughter Becky Jones of Capitan, NM. In addition he is survived by 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and his older sister Opal Peters of Ft, Sumner, NM.

Visitation will be Friday, March 31, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel of Ruidoso from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M.

Graveside services at Angus Cemetery will be on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 11:00 AM with a Celebration of Life reception immediately following at the Angus Schoolhouse.

Paul lived a full rich life with family and friends in his home in Lincoln County.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Angus Cemetery Association @ 118 LaMay Road, Nogal, NM 88341.
