Patsy Carpenter

Patsy Ruth Carpenter, 84, passed away at her home in Capitan, NM, on May
25, 2016. Patsy was born in Greenville, TX on January 21, 1932 to John Elton and
Evelyn Inez Hodges.

She graduated from Ranchvale High School in 1951. Shortly after she
married Curtis Wayne Wood and they had three children. Curtis was killed in an accident in 1956.
She then married Byron Lamoyne Carpenter; they were married for 54 years
until his death in 2013.

Patsy is survived by three sons, Danny Wood and wife Minnie, Byron Lynn
Carpenter, Norvell Carpenter and wife Kateri; one daughter, Donna Harkey and husband Steve , daughter-in-law Lilly Wood, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. She is also survived by two sisters, Juanema Staggs of Tularosa and Dorothy Reed of Clovis, and two sisters-in-laws Gladys and Lavonia Carpenter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both her husbands, two brothers
Herbert Hodges and Billy Joe Hodges and one son Steven Lee Wood.

Services will be held at the Trinity Baptist Church in Capitan on
Saturday, May 28, at 10:30 AM with burial at the Capitan Cemetery
and a luncheon will follow at the church.

Pallbearers are Ben Carpenter, Shane Carpenter, Jeff Reed, Karlton Reed,
Garland Ray Staggs and Jason Harkey.
