Patricia Hornbuckle

Patti Hornbuckle, passed away Sunday,July 16th, 2017 of Ruidoso, New Mexico and Henderson, Nevada passed into Gods loving arms with her husband and daughter by her side.

The daughter of William Leroy and Mary Delana Howell, Patti was born in Ashland, Kentucky on November 27th, 1940. Her family later relocated to Houston, Texas where she graduated from the University of Houston in 1963 earning a degree in Home Economics. Patti was a long standing member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Order of the Eastern Star. While attending the university she met and later married the love of her life, Tom Hornbuckle. In 1967, Patti gave birth to their only child, Rochell. Patti is also survived by her sister, Mary Lee Zigler and her brother-in-law Gene, of Houston, Texas along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Patti was patient, kind, intelligent and generous. A loving wife, mother, and friend to all, she will be most remembered for her loyalty to family and her incredible grace, beauty and sense of fashion. She loved and was committed to her five basset hounds and enjoyed frequent trips to Hawaii, especially the island of Maui, where she could be ready to go with a moment's notice. Special thanks to the caring staff at Kindred Hospital - Las Vegas St. Rose de Lima for the compassion, respect and dignity shown during the last weeks of her life.

Services will be held, Saturday, July 29th at 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church of Ruidoso, to be followed by burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Afterwards, a luncheon at the Church will be provided by the Order of the Eastern Star. A celebration of her life will also be held in Henderson, Nevada at a later date.
