Orlando Samora, 57, beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather, was called to his eternal resting place on May 1, 2020.
Orlando is predeceased by his brother Anthony Samora, Father Antonio Samora Jr., mother Virginia Samora, and sister Theresa Luna.
Orlando is survived by his loving wife, Leslie Samora, of 36 years. They were married in Albuquerque, NM on July 29th, 1983, his daughter Ashlie Samora of Albuquerque, son Jesse Samora and wife Faithe Samora of Carrizozo, son Carlos Samora of Carrizozo, his five grandchildren, sister Benita (Mercie) Epperson and her husband Harold Epperson of Alamogordo, sister Patricia O'Brien of Albuquerque, brother Santiago (Jimmy) Samora and his wife Laurie Samora of Alamogordo, and many nieces and nephews. Orlando will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
Orlando was born October 31,1962 and was raised in Carrizozo, NM where he graduated High School in 1980. He went on to serve 4 years in the United States Air Force. At the time of his passing, Orlando was serving as Lincoln County’s Purchasing Agent. Throughout the years, Orlando served the Carrizozo Community as the Santa Rita Parish Council President, Carrizozo Little League Coach, and a vital member of the Light Up the Night Christmas Tree Lighting team.
Orlando’s greatest treasure was spending time with his family, watching the Dallas Cowboys, the New Mexico Lobos, and cheering on the Carrizozo Grizzlies.
Funeral Services will be held for the family at Santa Rita Catholic Church, on Wednesday, May 06, 2020, with Father Emmanuel Ezenneh. Burial followed at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery, 17th Street, Carrizozo, NM 88301. A reception and celebration of life for all who would like to attend will be held at 409 Aspen, Carrizozo, NM 88301 on Wednesday, May 06, 2020 from 1:00-3:00 pm.
