Olivia Moorhead

Olivia Leonor Moorhead died peacefully on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, surrounded by her loving husband of 49 years, Darold Moorhead and her children. Olivia, or "Lula" as she was affectionately known, was born on November 13, 1940 in San Patricio, NM to Severo and Maria Erminia Gallegos. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She always took care of her family and put them first.

Olivia was best known in the community for working at the pawnshop. However, her main focus was on her family and, most importantly, her pride and joy -- her grandchildren.

Olivia is survived by her husband, Darold Moorhead, and her children and their immediate families: Dennis Moorhead and his fiancée, Catherine Hundley; Derek Moorhead and his son, Takoda Moorhead; Maria Misquez and her sons, Brennon Moorhead and Ruben Misquez; Melanie Moorhead and her sons, Kyler Ammons and Garrett Ammons.

She is also survived by her siblings and their spouses; Mary Lou and Max Bringhurst, Connie Gallegos; Lucy and Paul Garcia; Gloria Holguin; and Billy Gallegos.

She was preceded in death by her father, Severo M. Gallegos; her mother Maria (Minnie) Gallegos; her sister Patsy Ramos; her brothers Monroe Gallegos and Milo Gallegos.

Her prayer service will be Monday, June 5, in St. Eleanor Catholic Church at 9:30 A.M. with the funeral mass to follow at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at St. Jude Catholic Cemetery in San Patricio.
