Michael "Mike" Mohrhauser, of Ruidoso, New Mexico, passed away, January 15, 2021, after a brief illness.
Mike was born May 27, 1934 in Madison, Wisconsin to Lucien and Dorothy Mohrhauser. He graduated from Ysleta High School (El Paso, TX) in 1952 and from New Mexico College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts (NMSU — Las Cruces, New Mexico) in 1957. Mike's lifetime career in aerospace offered him the opportunity to assist in landing the first men on the moon. One of his favorite memories was being in the launch room for the Apollo missions. After 35 years of service, he retired to Ruidoso, NM. Apart from work, Mike enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved to go camping, fishing, and golfing whenever he had the time.
Mike is survived by his wife of 67 years, Diana; sons, Mark Mohrhauser (Linda), Scott (Priscilla) Mohrhauser, Richard (Pauline) Mohrhauser; six grandchildren. and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lucien and Dorothy, and his son Michael D. Mohrhauser.
At Mike's request, no service will be held.
