Melvin Yuzos Sr.

Melvin Yuzos Sr., passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018 in Mescalero. He was born February 9, 1947 to Melford Yuzos Sr. and Kathleen Hostosavit at Mescalero and had lived in Mescalero all of his life.

He worked form his early teens to support his family at the Sawmill in Ruidoso, the Ski Area, BIA roads, Forestry, the Mescalero Community Center, Parks and Recreation, Mountian View Drive-in and Capps Drive-In.

He married Eugenia "Jewell" Chino on January 29, 1969 at Mescalero and she preceded him in death.

He is survived by is children, Marvin and Collette Yuzos, Wadell Chino, Melvin Yuzos Jr. and Sherry Mendez, Margilynn Yuzos, Rylee Itsy Chino, Jason and Eliza Yuzos; his brothers and sisters, Judith and Baldwin Lester, Rebecca Shosh, Melferd Yuzos Jr. and Alda Blake, Coleen and Vincent Hubbard Sr., Lorena and Leland Lester, Helen Yuzos and Frank Young and Kevin and Lucille Yuzos; numerous grandkids, great grandkids, nieces and nephews; Aunts, Mary Zurga, Caroline Zurga and Evangeline Chipabitty.

He was preceded in death by Karen Yuzos, Vernon Simmons and Sharon Yuzos.

Visitation will be Monday, June 25, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. with the funeral service on Tuesday, June 26, at 10:00 A.M. in the Mescalero Reformed Church with burial to follow at the Mescalero Cemetery.
