Melferd Allen Yuzos III

Melferd Allen Yuzos III "Fats", an avid outdoorsmen left this world on April 13, 2026, at the age of 50. Born on September 15, 1975, Melferd was known for his kindness, generosity, great sense of humor, hardworking, and always willing to lend a helping hand.

During his years Melferd worked in various jobs: wildland firefighter, sawyer, maintenance, and construction. His hobbies included skiing, hunting, hikes for sheds, and spending time with his grandsons Tristan Yuzos, Malik Yuzos, family and friends.

Melferd will be greatly missed and remembered by those who knew him.

Melferd is survived by his children Madelynn Yuzos and Melferd Yuzos IV; grandsons Tristan Yuzos-Ahidley and Malik Yuzos; sister Lucinda Yuzos and Sondra Pellman; brother Jarvis Blake; and mother Alda Blake.

He is preceded in death by brother Emerson Yuzos Sr and father Melferd Yuzos Jr.

There will be a viewing on Monday, April 20, 2026 from 2:00-4:00pm at LaGrone Funeral Chapel in Ruidoso with the procession to St. Jospeh Apache Mission in Mescalero beginning at 4:00pm. A rosary will be recited at 6:00pm on Monday, April 21st at St. Joseph Apache Mission. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at St. Joseph Apache Mission.
