Mario Varela-Quezada

With broken hearts and deep love, we share the passing of Mario Varela-Quezada, 34 years young. Mario was more than a son, a brother, a family member, and a friend — he was a light in our lives. He had a smile that could lift your spirits instantly and a laugh that filled every room. Truly the life of the party, Mario had a way of bringing people together and making everyone feel welcome. He loved soccer with a passion, whether he was playing, watching, or talking about the game. He adored dogs and had a natural tenderness that showed in the way he cared for animals and people alike. Mario was strong and stubborn in his own way, but always kind-hearted and generous. He loved his family deeply and protected those he cared about with everything he had. His heart was pure, and his loyalty was unwavering. Mario leaves behind a space that can never be filled, but also memories that can never be taken away. His impact on the Ruidoso community will live on through every story shared, every laugh remembered, and every life he touched. We invite family, friends, and all whose lives were blessed by Mario to join us in honoring and celebrating his beautiful life. 

The viewing will be held at the Ruidoso Downs Racetrack Chapel 26225 US-70 Ruidoso Downs, NM 88346, on Saturday, February 28, 2026. Viewing: 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service: 12:00 p.m. Food and fellowship will follow shortly after the service as we come together to share memories, comfort one another, and celebrate the joy Mario brought into this world.

Con el corazón roto y llenos de amor, compartimos la partida de Mario Varela-Quezada, a la edad de 34 años. Mario fue más que un hijo, hermano, familiar y amigo — fue una luz en nuestras vidas. Tenía una sonrisa que levantaba el ánimo al instante y una risa que llenaba cualquier lugar. Verdaderamente era el alma de la fiesta, siempre logrando unir a las personas y haciendo que todos se sintieran bienvenidos. Amaba el fútbol con pasión, ya fuera jugando, viendo los partidos o hablando del deporte. También adoraba a los perros y tenía una ternura natural que demostraba en la manera en que cuidaba a los animales y a las personas. Mario era fuerte y terco a su manera, pero siempre noble y generoso. Amaba profundamente a su familia y protegía a quienes quería con todo su corazón. Su corazón era puro y su lealtad inquebrantable. Mario deja un vacío que nunca podrá llenarse, pero también recuerdos que jamás se borrarán. Su impacto en la comunidad de Ruidoso vivirá en cada historia compartida, en cada risa recordada y en cada vida que tocó. Invitamos a familiares, amigos y a todos aquellos que fueron bendecidos por su vida a acompañarnos para honrar y celebrar su hermosa vida. El velorio se llevará a cabo en Ruidoso Downs Racetrack Chapel 26225 US-70 Ruidoso Downs, NM 88346 Velorio: 11:00 a.m. Servicio funerario: 12:00 p.m. Habrá comida y convivencia poco después del servicio, donde nos reuniremos para compartir recuerdos, brindarnos consuelo y celebrar la alegría que Mario trajo a este mundo.
