Marilyn Schoof, 81, completed her mission on earth Thursday, March 2, 2017 and has begun another journey. Many Ajoites will remember her for her many talents-music(she was a member of the Ajo Desert Music Club, she taught piano lessons for many years, LDS church choir director), educator(she taught kindergarten and touched the lives of many kids), politician(Ajo school board member, Republican precinct committee woman, ran for state legislature).
She married Kenneth E. Schoof on July 3, 1953 at Mesa, Arizona and he preceded her in death on June 3, 2016. She moved to Ruidoso in 1996 from Playas, NM.
She is survived by her three sons and their wives, Ken and Linda of Ajo, Mike and Stephenie of Albuquerque, Larry and Amanda of Albuquerque; 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; two brothers, Phil Johnson and Bob Johnson.
The funeral service will Wednesday, March 8, at 11:00 A.M. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Ruidoso with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
