Margaret Means

Margaret Means, 90, passed away on September 10, 2015 in Bentonville, Arkansas. She was born on November 21, 1924 in Angus, New Mexico to the late Charlie Lee and Ella Arizona (Brown) Robinson.

She was a telephone operator right out of high school for Mountain Bell Telephone Co. in Carrizozo, New Mexico. After the closing of this location, she was transferred to Alamogordo, New Mexico, then she went to the Holloman Air Force to work in telecommunications, retiring in 1991. Margaret enjoyed crafts and had a talent for turning objects in Nature into works of art. She also worked crossword puzzles and wrote poetry.
She was preceded in death by parents; 9 siblings; and her son, David A. Peebles.

She is survived by her daughters; Gail Peebles Mann and husband, Charles of Rogers, Arkansas, Cheryl Means Dudley and husband, Andrew of Virginia; step-son, Kenny Means of Colorado; step-daughter, Karen Payton of New Mexico; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 17, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel in Ruidoso from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM with the funeral service on Friday, September 18, at 11:00 A.M. at the Angus Schoolhouse. Burial will follow at the Angus Cemetery.
