Luis Chavez

Luis Gilbert "Pops" Chavez Sr. was called home on Friday, July 13, 2018 at the age of 73 at his home in San Patricio, NM.

He was born on November 9, 1944 to Ramona Sedillo and Louie Chavez in Hatch, NM.

He moved to Roswell, NM, where he met and married Helen Sanchez on June 20, 1964.

He worked construction for most of his life. Him and his family relocated to San Patricio, NM, where he worked for the Hondo Schools until he retired in 1994.

He is survived by his wife Helen Chavez of San Patricio; sons, Luis Gilbert "Boy" Chavez, Jr. and wife Peggy of San Patricio, Joe Ray Ramirez and wife Amelia of San Patricio,
and daughter Jeanette Paige and husband Adam of Ruidoso Downs; grandchildren, Heaven-Leigh Valdez and husband Ricky of Ruidoso, Luis Gilbert "JB" Chavez III of Ruidoso, Ashley Chavez of Ruidoso Downs,
and Talisha Chavez of Ruidoso; great grandchildren, Unique, Mason, and Riley Ramirez, Serenity and Trinity Valdez, Damian Gonzales, Luis Gilbert "MJ" IIII and Angel Chavez, Cali and Lilly Chavez; sister, Mary Louisa Sedillo, husband James and niece, Brooke Rael of Las Cruces.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ramona Sedillo and Louie Chavez and his grandson Elijah Chavez.

"Pops" You will forever be in our hearts, we love you and will forever miss you.

Funeral mass will be Tuesday, July 24, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Jude Catholic Church in San Patricio.
