Lorilee Althea Martinez

Lorilee Althea Martinez was born on February 10, 1976, in Mescalero, New Mexico to the late Carleton Naiche-Palmer and Ada Palmer. She was raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico where she attended Albuquerque Public Schools. She married Jesse Matthew Martinez and had three children Ryan Louis Martinez, Lorissa Janae Martinez, and Seaven Reign Martinez. Lori was well known for her artistic culinary creations and recently received her degree in Occupational Studies in Culinary Arts from Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts in Boulder, Colorado. She also attained a degree in Early Childhood Education from Eastern New Mexico University. Her recent employment was working in various cooking positions with the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort and Casino. Lori has also worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs Mescalero Forestry and the Mescalero Apache Tribe Division of Resource Management and Protection as a wildland firefighter and sawyer. She enjoyed cooking whether it was a job or for family. She was very giving and always willing to help. Lori went to be with the Lord on May 26, 2025, in El Paso, Texas surrounded by family and friends. She is survived by Jesse Martinez, her companion of 37 years. Her children Ryan Martinez and Jessica Bonhorst and sons Skott, Kolt, Kaine. Her daughter Lorissa Martinez and Trevor Atole and their children Destiny, Maximus, and Abigail. And her baby daughter Seaven Martinez. Her mother Ada Palmer and siblings Marlin Palmer and family, Gina Fulsom and family, Michelle Naiche-Palmer and family, Melissa Chavez and family, Wynona Evans and family and Arlington Palmer and family.

The funeral procession will leave from LaGrone Funeral Chapel going to St. Joseph's Apache Mission Church at 4:00PM on Sunday, June 1, 2025. The Rosary Service will begin at 6:00PM the same day. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00AM on Monday, June 2, 2025 at St. Joseph's Apache Mission Church.
