Linda Joyce Guss Clements, 77, of Ruidoso, New Mexico, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 11, 2019.
Linda was born January 4, 1942, in Roswell, New Mexico to Albert and Elva Guss. She was the youngest of 15 children. She married Willie James (Jim) Clements on December 19, 1959. Linda was employed by Ruidoso State Bank for 23 years until her retirement in 2000. She served as the Lincoln County USBC Association Manager for over 25 years. She enjoyed bowling, volunteering for her church , and traveling with her husband of over 59 years. She is a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Ruidoso Downs, New Mexico. She was the recipient of the 2015 Spirit Athlete Award for the New Mexico Senior Olympics organization.
She is survived by her husband Jim, her daughter Twila Gordon and her husband Joe of Irving, Texas, her daughter Donna Phillips and her husband Jay of Ruidoso, New Mexico, and her son Darryl Clements and his wife Kim of Lubbock, Texas. She has 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother Delbert and his wife Sharon of Georgia.
She is predeceased by her parents, her 13 siblings, and granddaughter Rebecca Gordon.
Visitation will be Friday, July 19, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. The funeral will be Friday, July 19, at 4:00 P.M. at the First Southern Baptist Church of Ruidoso Downs with graveside services on Saturday, July 20, at 11:00 A.M. in South Park Cemetery in Roswell.
Pallbearers will be Joe Gordon, Jay Phillips, Christopher Clements, Jeremy Phillips, Joshua Gordon, and Kasey McCullar. Honorary pallbearers will be the Ruidoso Men’s Sunday School class of First Southern Baptist Church of Ruidoso Downs, New Mexico.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in her name to a charity of their choice.
