Leland Bartlett

Leland H. Bartlett, 83, of Ruidoso passed away Thursday, May 24, in Las Cruces, NM. He was born February 19, 1935 in Lamesa, Texas to Opal and Herman Bartlett who both precede him in death.

While living in Lamesa he was a farmer and moved to Ruidoso in 1982 where he owned and operated the Culligan Water until retiring in 1999. He attended First Baptist Church in Ruidoso. He married Neva on August 19, 1982 in Carrizozo.

He is survived by his wife, Neva of Ruidoso; children, Virgil Bartlett and his wife Niki of Amarillo, TX, Connie Bartlett of Lamesa, TX, Cindy Renner and her husband Carl of Highland Village, TX, and Perry Gipson and his wife, Charlotte of Roswell, NM; grandchildren, Jim Paul Whipple and his wife, Martha of Ruidoso Downs, Colinda Hinkle and her husband Michael of Lamesa, TX, Ashley Hamm and her husband Tye of Lubbock, TX, Audra Hobbs and her husband Madux of Roswell, NM, John Renner of Highland Village, TX, Sean Gipson and his wife Bonnie of Dallas, TX, Joey Renner and his wife Ashley of Madisonville, TX, Kelsey Gipson of Roswell, Cutter Whipple and his wife Shelby of Lamesa, TX and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Jeter.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 29, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel of Ruidoso from 9:30 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. The funeral service will be also be Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
