Lela Mayo

At 7:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 19th, 2016, God granted Lela Mayo's greatest wish and took her home to heaven. She was greeted by her husband and son, her parents, all her brothers and sisters, many nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends too numerous to count.

Lela was born 8 miles north of Farwell, TX, on May 2nd, 1921 to Charlie and Hattie Moore. She was married on March 21st, 1942 to Roy Mayo, and they were married 54 years. She had one son, Steve Mayo, who also preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Marvetta Mayo, and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.

A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, May 7th, at 2:00 P.M. in Gateway Church of Christ. We will be remembering ways she was special to us or funny memories we have of time spent with her. If you would like to share a brief story, please contact John Duncan at Gateway, 257-4381.
