Leander Shanta

Leander Shanta, 33, of Mescalero passed away Saturday, October 4, 2014 in El Paso, Texas. He was born February 7, 1981 at Alamogordo and had lived at Mescalero all of his life.

He is survived by a daughter, Rozelle Shanta mother, Velda Garcia 3 sisters, Rosie Shanta, Carla Shanta and Lacie Chavis a brother, Daniel Garcia Jr. his companion, Toni Montoya and an aunt, Henrietta Shanta.

Pallbearers will be: Gerald Magoosh Jr., Lionel Magoosh, Branson Smith, Rico Saenz, Harold Chimal, Rueben Enjady honorary pallbearers will be all his friends and family.

Prayer service will be Wednesday, October 8, at 6:00 PM at St. Josephs Mission where the funeral mass will be on Thursday, October 9, at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at the Mescalero Cemetery.
