Kateri Waites

Kateri was born in Ruidoso, NM on July 20 1985 and was raised with her 3 brothers in both Mescalero, NM and Lordsburg, NM. She graduated from Lordsburg High School and also studied Aerospace engineering at the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona.

She then resided back in Mescalero with her family and raised her 2 children, Jaden and Kierstin. She liked to make people laugh and always had a smile, especially when she was around her family and friends. She most of all loved being a mother and was always taking her kids on adventures everywhere with her, she will be remembered for her laughs, smiles, and love.

She survived by her children, Jaden and Kierstin; her aunt Irene; step-mother, Marylou; sister, Summer; brothers, Norman, Stephen, Chris, and numerous relatives both close and distant from both sides of her family. She will be greatly missed and loved.

Her funeral service was Tuesday, March 14, at St. Joseph's Apache Mission with burial at the Mescalero Cemetery.
