Karen Mcmurtry

Karen Louise McMurtry, 70, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 25, 2018 in Ruidoso NM. Karen was born May 30, 1947 to Morris and Dorothy Whalen in Lincoln, Minnesota. She married the love of her life, William McMurtry in 1966. They lived many years in Mantorville, Minnesota. Karen and Bill moved to Albuquerque in 1986. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family during their years together. Karen was loved by many and a friend to all. Being a grandmother was a true calling for Karen, she adored her 4 grandchildren and their faces lit up when she entered the room. Karen will be truly missed by all.

Karen is survived by her children Jennifer Herrera and husband Ruben of Ruidoso, NM. Son Sean McMurtry and wife Wendy of Albuquerque, NM. Grandchildren Carson and Irelinn Vasile, and Megan and Connor McMurtry.

She was preceded in death by her husband William McMurtry, her parents Morris and Dorothy Whalen and brother Michael Whalen.

A memorial service will be held Monday, April 30, 2018 at The Sanctuary on the River in Ruidoso NM, at 11:00 A.M.
