Juelan Rushing, a beloved member of the community passed away on August 4, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication and unwavering commitment. Born on March 20, 1952, in Texarkana, Texas, Juelan lived a life filled with passion and enthusiasm for her work and her family.
Juelan dedicated over 53 years of her life as a cashier in Ruidoso, where she worked at various establishments including H & J, Safeway, Furrs, Lawrence Brothers, United Supermarkets, and Albertsons. Her career was not merely a job, but a source of joy and fulfillment. She cherished the connections she made with her work friends and loyal customers, which is why she never wanted to retire. Her work ethic and dedication were second to none.
Beyond her professional life, Juelan was known for her loving and caring personality. She was always there for her family, providing support, comfort, and endless love. Her proudest accomplishment was her 40-year marriage to her beloved husband Harold, who preceded her in death on November 28, 2011. Their love was a shining example to all who knew them.
In her leisure time, Juelan had a passion for wrestling and the WWE. She could recount the history of wrestlers from the past four decades with ease, showing her deep knowledge and appreciation for the sport. Additionally, she had a fondness for collecting various clocks, each one holding a special place in her heart.
As we mourn the loss of Juelan Rushing, we remember her as a dedicated worker, a loving family member, and a friend to many. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Juelan is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold Rushing; father, Jack Stevenson; mother, Erma Stevenson; sister, Carrie Tydlaska, and brothers, Rick Stevenson and Pat Stevenson.
She is survived by her son, Cody Rushing and wife Beth Eversgerd; son, Grady Rushing and wife Dusty; and son Corey Rushing and wife Savanah; grandchildren, Alexis Rushing, Ethan Rushing, Kyle Rushing, Shyrelle Rushing, Harley Rushing, Raelyn Rushing, Tatum Rushing, Savannah Bond, Ashleigh Bond, Skyler Romero, Ethan Romero, Audree Morales, and Nathaniel Corley; great grandchild, Scarlet Romero; brother, Lonnie Stevenson, and sister, Deana Osterman.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Gateway Church in Ruidoso, New Mexico with Sherry Hoffer officiating. The family invites everyone to stay for a reception following the service.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Cody Rushing, Grady Rushing, Corey Rushing, Ethan Rushing, Kyle Rushing, and Ethan Romero.
