Joey "Jobe" Harold Harvey passed away suddenly on January 10, 2019 in Las Cruces, NM with his best friend and wife at his side after a short hospital stay. Jobe was born in Hobbs, NM, March 9, 1957 to Edwin Harvey and Joyce Loving Harvey but lived and traveled throughout the country including Idaho, Washington, Colorado, Arizona and Wisconsin. He loved the mountain town of Ruidoso which he called home for the last 13 years.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Nina Grunseth, brother Mike Harvey, nephews Lance Harvey (Jennifer), Blake Harvey, Houston Harvey (Megan) and his adored dogs, Pride, Joy and Chip. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Terry Mitchell Harvey.
Jobe loved sports of all kinds and was a ski instructor, golfer and avid camper and outdoorsperson. He played golf, football, basketball and baseball in high school in Eunice, NM and through college at ENMU and the University of New Mexico. He was a genuine and true friend and was loved by too many to count.
Please join us for a Celebration of his life at Michael J's Restaurant, 601 Mechem Drive in Ruidoso on Monday, January 21 from 11 - 3 pm. Feel free to stop by for a few minutes or stay the whole time, but if you would like to join us for lunch at noon, please RSVP after 1 pm to the restaurant at 575-257-9559 by Saturday afternoon. Jobe would approve of donations to the Humane Society of Lincoln County in his memory. We will have a collection box for the Humane Society and/or cards at the Celebration.
