Joel Lester

Joel Lester was born and raised on the Mescalero Apache Recervation. He attended Bent-Mescalero School, Tularosa Schools and Cooliage. Arizona Community College. He was a very well known and respected individual of the community. Joel is a direct decendant of Eugene Chihuahua, Agnis Chihuaua-Pesewonit and Anita Pesewonit-Lester. He valued his tradiional beliefs and carried that with him throughout his life.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Tammy Torres, George Lester, Gailda Tenorio, Dewight Evans, Sherolyn Evans, Marla Evans, Anna Kamp, Rena Enjady-Chee, Thelton Lester and Mervil Lester. He was preceded in death by his parents, Parker and Anita Lester, brothers and sisters, Annette Torres, Becky Lester, Agnes Lester, Royce Evans and Nathaniel Lester.

The burial will be Thursday, September 13, at 6:00 A.M. at the Whitetail Cemetery.
