At age 43, Jody Casares' sunset was in El Paso, TX on September 25, 2016 at approximately 7:45 A.M.
Jody's sunrise was on May 13, 1973 in Mescalero, NM to Lupe & Sybil Casares. Jody was the second of eight children. He attended Cloudcroft High School and played basketball and track. His favorite subject in high school was English. Jody was a licensed heavy equipment operator and worked for BIA Forestry and Mescalero Apache Cattle Growers Association. He lived in Elk Springs and Mescalero all of his life. Jody enjoyed reading anything by Louis L'amour, training and breaking horses and lived for ridging his one true companion "Mill Iron Page."
Jody is survived by his wife, Kaylis of Mescalero; daughter, Darian of Mescalero; father, Guadalupe Casares Sr. of Elk Springs; mother, Sybil Belin of Mescalero; four brothers, Robert of Mescalero, Guadalupe Jr. of Ft. Knox, KY; Antonio of Forgan, OK, Raymond of Ruidoso; three sisters, Donna and Christine of Elk Springs and Theresa of Albuquerque; six nephews, Caledon, Cayden, Antonio Jr., Arian, Gunnar and Roan Casares and four nieces, Hannah, Sophia, Sheyenne, and Isabella Casares.
In heaven Jody joins Papo, Mama, Uncle Steve and "Mill Iron Page."
His funeral mass will be Friday, September 30, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Mission at Mescalero.
