Joanne Washburn

Joanne Washburn, 76, of Corona passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018. She was born October 1, 1941 in Snyder, Texas to Robert Henry Wellborn and Nancy Lorena Wellborn who both preceded her in death.
She moved to Lincoln County in 1967 and taught school at Corona, Thoreau, Capitan and Ft. Stanton and taught many grades and subjects, she retired in 2006. She attended the Corona Presbyterian Church.

She married Royce Washburn on June 30, 1962 at Magdalena and he preceded her in death on April 2, 1998.

She is survived by her daughter, Becky Washburn-Brown and her husband, Tom; her son, Justen Washburn and his wife, Korie; two grandchildren, Tarren and Teagan Washburn; her brother, Dick Wellborn; sister, Mary Nell Washburn and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Wellborn.

Her funeral service will be Friday, October 5, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in the Corona School Auditorium with burial to follow at the Washburn Ranch Cemetery.
