Jimmy Ferguson died July 15, 2025 in Ruidoso , New Mexico after a short battle with cancer. He was born June 15, 1955 to James E. Ferguson and Nancy Zimmerman , in Cleburne, Texas and died one month after he turned 70.

He graduated from Cleburne High School in 1973 and attended Texas Tech University. He received his Bachelor 's degree in Business Administration at University of Texas, Arlington in 1977. After working several years at Texas Power and Light in Cleburne, he opened Johnson County Bail Bonds which he operated until he retired and moved to his vacation cabin in Ruidoso, New Mexico.

Jimmy will be remembered for his smile and spirit. Golf was a huge part of his life even as a young boy. He played daily much of his life. His first job was at Nolan River Country Club watering the greens with Alton Lemmons, a dear friend. He was an animal lover and never let a stray go unfed. He was a huge sports fan , especially football. He followed his Texas Longhorns for 70 years, missing very few Texas/OU games.

A memorial will be at a later date in Cleburne. 

Jimmy is survived by two sisters, Nancy Daniel of Cleburne, and Suzy Lynch Cummings of Granbury; three nephews, Wade Daniel (Rhonda), Brad Daniel (Debbie), and Yater Lynch.
