Jessica Mitchell

Jessica K Mitchell, age 31, passed away peacefully and surrounded by love on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Lincoln County Medical Center in Ruidoso, New Mexico. She was born to Darryl A. Mitchell and Kimberly Kannady Atwood on December 29, 1985 in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Jessica went to school in Ruidoso, New Mexico and completed her Junior and Senior year in Corpus Christi, Texas. She tried a few lines of work but by far her favorite job was at the Gulf Coast Humane Society. She had tremendous love for animals. Jessica also loved music. Her favorite places to spend time were at the beach and in the mountains. Any time she spent with family and friends was a true treasure for her. Jessica loved her family and friends deeply and passionately even if she was arguing with them. She always stood up for her beliefs and at the same time had respect for others beliefs. She had a great and crazy sense of humor. Jessica loved cooking, drawing and being creative, especially making jewelry. Jessica will be remembered as a loving and caring soul who lived life fully and brought love and laughter to all the people she knew and many she didn't know. A lot of random acts of kindness came from her.

Left to honor Jessica's life and remember her love are her partner of 9 years, Charles DeSena and their son Syler. Her mother, Kimberly Kannady Atwood, her father Darryl Mitchell and stepmother Mary Jane Mitchell. Her stepfather Mike Atwood. Her "in laws" Duke and Tammy DeSena and their daughter Tanya Miles. Her Brother Joshua Mitchell, half sister Vanessa Mitchell, and half brother Jordan Mitchell. Her grandfather Jack Kannady and her Grandmother Opal Mitchell. Her Aunt Diane Mitchell, Uncle Mike (Cindy) Mitchell, Uncle Kem (Kathy) Mitchell and Uncle Harley Mitchell. Cousins Michelle Kannady, Ariel Kannady, Adria Kannady and Aaron Kannady, Matthew Mitchell and Nick Mitchell. Jessica is preceded in death by Grandma Judy Kannady, Uncle Kyle Kannady, Uncle Jerry Kannady, Cousin Yank Kannady and "stepfather" Rusty Lee Coons.

Family , friends and others whose lives Jessica touched are invited to join us in Ruidoso, New Mexico on December 29, 2017 for a Celebration of Her Life.

A Celebration of her Life will be Friday, December 29, at 6:00 P.M. at the J Bar J Country Church with a potluck dinner to follow.
