Jesse Hofacket

Jesse Wayne Hofacket of Nogal, New Mexico, passed away in the comfort of his home on May 22, 2025. He was born May 25, 1940, in Levelland, Texas, to Jesse Woodrow Hofacket and Mary Lou "Dolly" Cunningham. He was a graduate of Levelland High School, Sul Ross State University and Duke University where he received his degree in Physical Therapy.

He spent 50 years practicing physical therapy. He had a private practice in Lubbock and also worked in the hospital setting. Moving to Ruidoso in 1990, he was the director of Physical Therapy at Lincoln County Medical Center. After retirement he continued to work as a traveling therapist in Alpine, Texas.

An avid photographer, he loved to document the beauty of Ruidoso and surrounding areas, as well as the rugged beauty of the Bid Bend area of Texas.

Jesse is survived by his wife, Liz Hofacket of Nogal; his son, Jeff Hofacket and wife Rene, of Lubbock; his daughter, Colene Rice of Lubbock; his son Kyle Wheeler and wife Anna, of Las Vegas; 5 granddaughters and 9 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held May 31, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in Ruidoso at Gavilan Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
