Jesse Cadena Jr.

July 19, 1959 — December 15, 2017

On December 15, 2017 Jesse Cadena Jr, loving son, brother, uncle and friend scored his final touchdown. Jesse was born July 19, 1959 in Artesia, New Mexico, he grew up in Tularosa, NM where he excelled in athletics and academics. He walked on to Highland's university football team before transferring to New Mexico State University. Jesse then enlisted in the united States Army where he proudly served 6 years, having been stationed on the border of west Germany during the height of the Cold war.

He took pride in his work in the Wal-Mart sporting Goods Dept.and enjoyed sharing his passion of sports with others, which he did for over 25 years. Jesse championed Wal-Mart's involvement in Free Fishing Day; he loved all sports, however football was what he enjoyed the most. He was the Loudest and Proudest fan of all warriors -past and present. He coached many Ruidoso Little League teams, shortly before he passed he was privileged to watch several of those Little League players help win the 2017 state 4-A Football championship. Jesse Jr. considered all the kids he coached over the years as "his kids" & was extremely proud of them all.

Jesse is survived by his parents, Isabel & Jesus Cadena; his siblings: Cyndi Cadena, Debbie Cadena, Marian & Rob Taylor, Javier & JoRae Cadena; as well as his nieces & nephews: Jessica Vizcaino, Melanie Gal van, Jerry Balderrama, Anastacia Cadena-Diaz, Mirrissa Huffman, Eli as Guerra, Danielle Cadena, Taylor Simonaro, Savannah Doak, Maya Franco, Dashawn Cervantes, Gabriel Taylor, Mori ah Taylor, Michael a Cadena-Chavira, Mayjah Cervantes, Raylonie Cervantes, Dezirey Galvan, Ellyana Vizcaino, Oliver Diaz, Elijah Guerra, Anabelle Guerra, Emalynn Vizcaino, Taherzadeh Cervantes, Joel Galvan, Jr., Reagan Diaz, Aurora Guerra, Penelope Balderrama, Abigail Garcia, Aurelia Bolanos, & numerous extended family and friends including Shaenon Simonaro & Noel Franco, Candy Smith, Depree Walkinshadow, and Cindy Cervantes.

His Rosary service will be Tuesday, December 19, at 5:00 P.M. at St. Eleanor Catholic Church where the funeral mass will be on Wednesday, December 20, at 10:00 A.M.
